The CO Research Trust are pleased to announce that it has awarded £400K in grants this year, to help improve the understanding of carbon monoxide exposure.

The Trust held an open grant call at the end of 2023. After a rigorous process of application and interviews, three projects have been selected for support in the 2023/24 round.

CO Research Trust CEO, Adrian McConnell said.

"This year we were pleased with the number of applications received and our Trustees were impressed by the quality and depth of those applications. After careful debate, we have chosen three projects which align with our research priorities and will help to further the work to better understand the risks posed by carbon monoxide poisoning."

The three projects that have been awarded grants are:

Manchester Metropolitan University

“Characterising the cell – specific effects of low-level carbon monoxide exposure during vertebrate cardiac development”

UK Health Security Agency
