The CO Research Trust has today announced the return of our popular lecture series. The Autumn/Winter series will showcase the work of leading researchers in the field of carbon monoxide (CO) from all over the world.

The first lecture will take place on Wednesday 28th September 2022 from 2-3 pm. We will be joined by Sean England a PhD student from the University of Hertfordshire. Sean is undertaking ground-breaking research into the use of pupillometry as a reliable biomarker for CO exposure. The CO Research Trust is funding several projects looking at finding a more robust marker for CO exposure than haemoglobin, the standard measure used currently. Sean's work is providing compelling evidence that pupillometry could provide this much-needed breakthrough.

Sean's project was launched at the CO Research Conference in July 2022. Such was the audience's interest that we are welcoming him back to discuss the technique in more depth.

Adrian McConnell, Head of Charitable Operations at the CO Research Trust said. ‘We are delighted to bring back our hugely popular lecture series. Sean's work was launched at the CO Research Conference in July. Such was the audience's interest that we are welcoming him back to discuss the technique in more depth. Pupillometry could pave the way for far more reliable detection of CO poisoning, which we fear is currently vastly underreported.’
