When is the Research Conference?

The Research Conference will take place on Tues 5th July 2022. During the Conference, the Trust will launch the new grant application process for 2022/23. This will kick off with a Sandpit event which will take place on Weds 6th July, at the same venue. Places for the Sandpit event are limited.


Where is it?

The Research Conference and the Sandpit event will both take place at Church House Conference Centre, Great Smith St, London SW1P 3AZ.


Which is the closest tube station?

The closest tube stations to Church House are either St James Park, on the Circle and District lines, or Westminster, on the Circle, District or Jubilee lines.


What is the purpose of the Conference?

The Research Conference will provide the opportunity to review the latest research into carbon monoxide exposure, as well as considering the projects that are currently in progress. It will also be an opportunity for researchers, academics, industry professionals, organisations and charities to meet in person to discuss the key challenges and focus on the priorities for the future.


How much will it cost to attend?

The Research Conference has been funded solely by the CO Research Trust and is free to attend for delegates.


Who will be there?

Delegates at the Research Conference will include academics, researchers, industry professionals, organisations and charities and all key stakeholders in the world of carbon monoxide research.


What is the Sandpit event?

The Sandpit event, which will take place on Weds 6th July, the day after the Research Conference, will be the first stage of the new grant application process for 2022/23. It will be a gathering to bring together any potential grant applicants to provide a forum for some free thinking, to delve into the problems surrounding the research into carbon monoxide exposure.


Will food be provided?

Yes, lunch will be provided for delegates who have signed up to attend the Conference. Light refreshments will also be provided throughout the day during break times.


If I have any food allergies who do I notify?

If you are already registered to attend the Conference, please notify kimberly@coresearchtrust.org of any food allergies or specific dietary requirements.


Will the Conference be available to view/join in online?

No, the Conference will not be available to view or join online. However, all the presentations will be available on the CO Research Trust website after the event has finished www.coresearchtrust.org.


Will the Conference be an annual event?

This is the first ever CO Research Conference to be run by the CO Research Trust, and we are confident that everyone attending will get real value from being there. We look forward to receiving feedback from delegates of the event with regards to how we can shape the research process in the future, and the usefulness of the Conference.


Can I change my mind and attend Day 2?

If you have only registered for the Research Conference and not the Sandpit event, but would like to put your name down for the Sandpit event now, please contact kimberly@coresearchtrust.org who will let you know if there are spaces available in your particular group. Please notify Kimberly by 7th June in order to be considered for the Sandpit event.


What time does the Research Conference start?

Coffee and Registration for the Conference will open at 9.15am on Tues 5th July. Baroness Finlay will open the Conference at 10am. We ask that all delegates are seated shortly before 10am.


What is the format of the day?

Following the opening speech by Baroness Finlay, the Conference will be broken down into 4 sessions, each chaired by an industry expert, to focus on specific areas of interest. There will be short presentations from a number of experts in each area, followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A session. The intention is for the Conference to be as interactive for delegates as possible.


If I do not attend the event, how will I find out about the new grant process?

If you are unable to attend the Research Conference, details about the new grant application process will be available on the CO Research Trust website www.coresearchtrust.org following the event. If you are intending to submit a grant application this year, but are unable to attend the Conference, please contact adrian@coresearchtrust.org.


Will the event be recorded?

Yes, the event will be recorded by a videographer throughout the day. If you do not wish to be included in this video, please let us know at the start of the day when you register your attendance.


Will any photos or videos of the event be shared on social media?

Yes, photos and video footage taken from the Research Conference will be shared widely on our website and on our social media channels. If you do not wish to be included in any photos or videos, please let us know at the start of the day when you register your attendance.
